Why Do You Feel Stuck In Life?

Understand what’s holding you back in your life, and how to move forward.

You know something needs to change, you can feel it. And yet… you’re still in the same place.

It can feel like you’re watching your life from the outside, wanting more, knowing you’re capable of more, but not being able to move forward.

This Feeling Of Being Stuck

Being stuck isn’t just about circumstances, it’s a deeper feeling. You might feel:

  • like you’re going in circles

  • unsure what direction to take

  • disconnected from what you really want

  • frustrated that nothing seems to shift

Sometimes it’s quiet. Sometimes it feels overwhelming.

But underneath it all is the same question: “Why can’t I move forward?”

How Stuckness Shows Up

This can look different for everyone, but often includes:

  • starting things and not following through

  • overthinking every decision

  • staying in situations that don’t feel right

  • feeling unclear, even when you try to figure it out

  • waiting for the “right moment” that never quite comes

From the outside, it might not look like anything is wrong. But inside, it feels like something is holding you back.

This can be frustrating, but, because you’re not unaware, you’ve probably already;

  • reflected

  • tried to change

  • pushed yourself

  • told yourself to “just get on with it”.

And yet… the feeling remains and that’s what makes it so confusing.

What ‘Feeling Stuck’ Really Is

Feeling stuck is rarely about laziness, or lack of motivation, or not knowing what to do. More often, it’s connected to deeper internal patterns, the ways that your mind has learned to think, respond and, ultimately, to protect you.

At some level, there may be:

  • fear of getting it wrong

  • fear of being seen

  • a sense of not being good enough

  • a need to stay safe or avoid risk

But these aren’t always obvious and yet they can unconsciously shape your life choices and keep you stuck where you currently are.

Hidden Stuck Patterns

This is where most people get caught. Even when you want to move forward, something underneath keeps pulling you back into the same place, almost as if it is happening outside your control.

You might notice this as:

  • self doubt

  • hesitation

  • second guessing yourself

  • or repeating the same cycles/patterns in your life

If this resonates, you may be recognising yourself or these patterns of self sabotage. You are probably asking “Why do I keep sabotaging myself?”

Break The Patterns That Keep You Stuck

Moving forward isn’t about forcing yourself or pushing harder, it’s not about thinking positively, affirmations or visualising positive outcomes - it’s about understanding what’s been holding you stuck in place.

When you begin to work in alignment with your deeper life patterns, rather than against them, things start to shift in a way that feels natural and not forced.

Clarity comes - Movement in life becomes easier - You start to feel like yourself again.

How I Work

In my therapy work, I help you explore what’s beneath the surface of your feeling stuck.

Together, we;

  • uncover the patterns and responses that have been keeping you where you are

  • understand how they were formed

  • gently shift them so new possibilities can emerge

  • help you consciously shape your chosen direction in life.

This isn’t about fixing you, it’s about helping you reconnect with the part of you that already knows how to move forward.

Start With a Conversation

If you recognise yourself in this, you don’t have to stay stuck in this place. You can learn more about my approach in my Reclaim Your Life programme.

Or if you feel ready to take the next step, book a conversation call with me and we can talk about where you are in your life right now and whether working together feels right for you.

There is no pressure or obligation, it’s simply an opportunity to talk and for you to ask any questions you may have.
