I am often asked, “Is online therapy as good as 1 to 1 in person therapy” and my answer is always an absolute “Yes”. And online talk therapy (often known as remote therapy) can often be more effective than face to face therapy

There are many kinds of talk therapy including psychotherapy and counselling, but all talk therapies are person centered. I offer mind body therapy to foster healthy emotional somatic (body) connection to gently discover the root causes of emotional, mental, physical and spiritual issues. I find that this approach is much more effective than just talk therapy. 

I offer online therapy via Whatsapp video, Zoom or by telephone (phone therapy). If you prefer another method, please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate you.

Benefits of Online Therapy

In the last few years, online / remote therapy and phone therapy has become an increasingly popular way to access support, and there is a very good reason for this. Online therapy or counselling can offer people much more flexibility, especially for those with stressful or busy lives. If you are unable to leave your home, don’t drive or live in a rural area, online can be the perfect solution for you. I regularly meet online with clients around Ireland and in other countries, removing the limits imposed by physical distance.

Many people feel more at ease approaching a therapist online and meetings can continue online or we can also arrange some in person visits, mixing them as and when you feel comfortable with.

What Can Online Therapy Treat?

If you are new to therapy and especially to online or remote therapy, then you may be wondering what issues this form of therapy can be beneficial for. Well, the answer is just about everything, there is nothing that cannot be treated with during online therapy versus in person therapy.

Online therapy is beneficial in treating all kinds of stress, anxiety, phobias, body issues, low self esteem, social anxiety, depression, fear, feeling lost in life, grief, sadness, trauma, relationship issues, life changes or if you simply need a safe space to be heard and supported.

At any time you may decide to try a face to face in-person therapy session, so just let me know when you feel ready and we can arrange it. One of the advantages about this hybrid approach is that you can decide if and how you wish to mix your therapy sessions.

I also have several clients who prefer to receive their therapy sessions by telephone call, and this is amazingly effective. Telephone therapy may also be a good option for you.

How Do You Know If Online Therapy Is Suitable For You?

So, you have decided that you will benefit from counselling or talk therapy, but you are unsure whether or not you will be comfortable with online. That’s ok, video conversations are still a relatively new thing and not everyone is comfortable about having their face seen during a call.
